It’s Monday night, and the headsouth team has started to build their tolerance for the extreme conditions, managing to complete 8 miles in a full day on the ice. Everyone has now adapted to the altitude, and the weather has been much kinder, with sun and clear skies all day.
“We doubled our mileage today, it’s crazy how hard it is in the cold. Temperature was -20ºC and blue skies. We need to get through 8 miles each day now. Those that struggled yesterday were in good shape today. We are focused on the challenge ahead for all those supporting us”

Today the team also encountered a solo explorer who is attempting to trek the 560nm from coast to pole by herself and completely unassisted – an amazing feat!
